If you build it, we will come
We are building a home! We have meet with the builder and picked our most of our finishes and have approval from the architect! We are so excited to be finally done with moving and not feeling settled. We decided on North Lehi at the point of the mountain. Permits are being draw and building should start soon!
One Month Old
Really, Lu is 6.5 weeks old, but here is her one month update
Weight: 6 lbs 1 oz
Height: 18 inches
Clothes Size: preemie and American Girl Doll (for real)
Diaper Size: new born
Eats: about 3 1/2 ounces every 3 hours
Sleeps: in 4 hour increments at night and naps for about 2 hours a couple times a day
Firsts: babysitter (so Evan and I could go to the Jazz game), trip to Idaho (Thanksgiving), Black Friday (woot woot)
Personality: She defiantly is a clinger; loves to be held and cuddled. She is so sweet and loves to smile and make cheesy faces. She knows when to cry and have her daddy pick her up. She hates not being held so in the car she will cry, but the second the engine turns off she stops because she knows that she will be held soon.

Jazz vs Lakers
Evan and I had a chance to go on a real date. We dropped Lu off at a friends house to cuddle all night and we went to the Jazz and Lakers game. We had awesome seats- 6th row center court! It was so much fun to spend time with Evan. After the game we grabbed the baby and cuddled on the couch all night.
Lucy
Littles is finally here! After a long wait, Lucy is finally home. She was born at 12:36 am on the 29th of October and was 5 pounds 1 ounce and 18 inches long. When we left the hospital, she was down to 4 pounds and 15 ounces but a few days later she was back up to 5 pounds even. She is the cutest little thing and we are so in love with this little girl. She loves to be held and sleeps 5-6 hours each night. Lu has dark brown hair and big blue eyes.

Guess who is now a lawyer?!?
This guy! While sitting in the cold water after his run, I get a text saying that bar results are up and he passed! We feel so blessed that Evan was able to go to law school and have such a great group of friends to be with during those three years.
Top of Utah Marathon
Evan and my races are a little off this year. On Friday night we went to a good friend's wedding receptions (congrats Bryce and Heather!), then left for Logan for the weekend. We stayed at Evan's sisters house with a few other friends that night, then the boys woke up at 4 to go run a marathon!
I didn't know, but the TOU ranks it's runners. Since Evan's sister is pretty well connected in the community, she had the pleasure of hosting the number one guy and number one girl in her extra apartment. I don't think it intimidated the guys because they did awesome.
From the finish line, you could see where the runners would come around a corner so I ran my own 50 yard dash to catch one tired man...
Then I ran back to the finish line to cheer him on. He had a great little fan club there for him. His sister Gaylen and three of her kids, and Heidi and Jerry with three of their kids also. I think the best part was Evan "stole" ice cream sandwiches for all the kids to eat from the runners food area. He definately won uncle of the year with that move.

After the run we went back to Gaylen's and Evan sat in the river that runs through their yard to cool down his muscles and clean off his bloody foot/toe nail, of course. He also had a few little friends that would bare the cold water with him.

St George Trip
My mom's BFF from high school's son past away, so my family was off the St. George for the services. Since I can't pass up a trip for someone else to do all the driving, I hopped in the car with my little sister Sarah and went down to stay with them for the weekend. We played at Zion, swam, ate lots of yummy food and birthday cake (for Sarah), and sat in the hot tub. My mom brought along my newest little nephew, so I had baby duty all weekend. I didn' mind hanging out with little Jax; he is one cute kid.

Lately...
I fell like we always get done doing something and I say, we didn't take a picture! We have been busy with life, but nothing really worth documenting (yet). What we have been up to, in whatever order I can think of:
1. Evan took the Utah bar, which means we are finally setting up roots
2. We are still looking for the perfect house
3. I introduced three new products at work, so life has been a little hectic
4. We have had MANY visitors since moving to Salt Lake- my mom, Evan's parents, lots of siblings (my sister Sarah, Evan's brother Lance, Evan's sister Heidi and her husband Jerry, Evan's sister Juliet and her four kids)
5. We are both still training for different races; Evan the Logan marathon and me the Soda Springs 1/2 marathon and Orem sprint tri
6. I have been crafting like crazy for a cute little baby girl that I know
I think that is the highlights from the last month. We should hear back from the bar soon, but I am not worried about it.

4th of July
We love the 4th! It is our favorite holiday around here; Christmas is a close second. Since our first date was on the 4th (technically it was from 10 am on the 4th to about 1 am on the 5th), we try to re-create it every year. Our first date included a BBQ, baseball game, and fireworks. So this year we went to the SL Bees game. We were a little bummed that they lost by 1 point (I think), but it was still fun. After we went to Sonic for 1/2 price milkshakes.
Cookie Woes
I *think* I can cook anything. Give me a bunch of random ingredients and I can make an good meal ( I even won an iPad for my mad cooking skills). I can even bake; I can make decadent desserts. Most often at restaurants Evan tells me something along the lines of "I like your version better". EXCEPT, chocolate chip cookies. Until tonight! I finally think I figured out how to make them. I know this sounds weird, but I have never found the balance between under and over cooked, spreading too much, or losing its cookie shape.
Here are some things I learned:
1. After creaming the butter and sugar, mix with the eggs for 3 minutes.
2. Add chocolate chips BEFORE flour so you don't over mix.
3. Keep dough in the refrigerator when a batch is in the oven.
4. Remove from oven when slightly undercooked and let sit on the baking sheet for a few minutes.

Jaxson Ryder Thomas
Jaxson is here! My little brother's son was born yesterday. After 28+ hours of labor, getting stuck a few times, and an emergency c-section, little baby Jax made his way into the world. In true SoCal style, he keeps finding places to kick his feet up and relax. And thanks to the long, complicated labor, he gets to take his first helicopter ride to the Children's Hospital in San Diego so they can monitor his heart and stress levels. Say a little prayer for Jax that everything will be ok and for Christina since they will be separated until tomorrow when she can leave the hospital.

Utah Valley Half Marathon
I finished! My goal was to just finish, and I came in at 1:52. I never thought I could do it under 2 hours. Heidi, Evan's sister, ran it with me. It was surprisingly fun (I know, who knew running a half marathon would be fun). I am glad that I did it and I was able to finish. Around mile 10 I felt like I was going to die, but by the time I could see the finish line I had so much energy and I just wanted to be done. It was really pretty running down the canyon and the weather was perfect. Thanks Heidi for coming all the way from Idaho to run with me.
